THANK YOU for taking the step to search for an amazing guitar teacher! You've already started on your path to success!
Playing music is amazing! It makes you feel great, proud, inspired and energized. It's helps with goal setting, scheduling, organizing and learning to work hard, and it makes you SMARTER! It's the ultimate multitasking brain workout!
Oh...and its REALLY REALLY FUN and all your friends (or your children's friends) will be envious!
NOTE: I'm mostly accepting online students at the moment, for the safety of your family and mine. Online lessons are awesome, convenient, and save you travel fees too. Many of my students prefer them now that they have tried them!
Having a caring, experienced teacher makes a massive difference (I've been doing this most of my life, it's not a hobby!), otherwise everyone would just learn on youtube! My students of all ages are thrilled about their lessons and most tell me that youtube videos didnt work for them, or they wanted the experience of real interaction with someone who cares about their progress and is there to help!
I want you to feel awesome during our whole music journey together!
I want you to go look up "calgary's best guitar lessons" on google maps, where you can find a link to an awesome page I just set up for prospective students like you! (of course you can scroll down and read the rest of this ad too!)
My students love their lessons, and I keep hearing about how thrilled they are to have found me (especially students with previous lesson experience).
Get in touch and we can set you up with my risk free "30min Introduction to Guitar Workshop" (if you don't want to continue, it's free) so you can join munity of happy students and get even more excited about learning music!
Thank you! ...and don't take my word for it, here is an amazing testimonial from the parents of a student who took lessons for 11 years non stop (he only stopped because he moved away for university, and he is going to start again when he's not bogged down with engineering homework!)
My son started taking guitar lessons when he was 7. We met Phil when he provided vacation coverage for our usual teacher. There was a wonderful connection that developed between teacher and student, and my son bonded with Phil instantly; therefore, he requested to stay with Phil as his teacher. Phil's patience and understanding really encouraged our little guy. He understands the struggles those little fingers were going through, and he even brought his own guitar book from his childhood for encouragement. The progress that our son made during his last few years with Phil as a teacher far exceeded any expectations I had. Phil was able to impart his enthusiasm and love of playing guitar onto my son. Rather than work directly from a lesson book, he would play different pieces of music and allow him to choose what he wanted to learn. He customized the music and lessons to his current skill level while at the same time providing challenges to keep the learning process going. He is innovative in his methods of teaching; for example, Phil noticed how my son enjoys playing alongside with him, so he recorded backing tracks for him to play along, which gave him incentives and motivations to daily practice. He also encourages my son to write his own music, and have loads of fun letting his imaginations and creativities run wild. He also utilizes a wide range of tools, from stressing the importance of the good old metronome to jamming in garage band. Phil is not only a friendly and patience teacher, but also a musician that is truly devoted to his music. We had the privilege to attend one of his band's performances, where we witnessed how truly plished a musician he is. My son was blown away and utterly inspired by the performance. I respect Phil for many of his qualities but most of all because he is able to connect with his students and customize their lessons according to their strengths. Phil is a very positive and encouraging teacher. I highly mend Phil as a guitar teacher and mend anyone who would like to learn guitar to experience his contagious passion and love of music first hand
