I bought these BONT cycling shoes (cost me $431.00 ON SALE), because they are FULLY heat moldable. Unfortunately I bought the 44 which is too long, as they fit a bit longer and the 44 is much closer to a 45, I believe. I have ordered another pair, but they will take 16+ weeks to get here.
These are simply the BEST moldable cycling shoe you can buy. So good in fact, that they are banned by the UCI for races! They are lightweight, stiff, have very low stack height, are hand made, have a carbon fibre "moccasin" construction, and are fully heat moldable ( as many times as you need ). If you want ( or need ) a fully customizable Pro-level cycling shoe - you cannot to better than these, especially at almost 1/2 price for brand new shoes!!
This BONT cycling shoe is the most heat moldable shoe on the market today. BONT's resin is developed in house and has been perfected over 36 years to be an extremely stiff resin that es pliable at relatively low temperatures. The base and sides of the shoe are moldable which means all stiff areas of the "moccasin" can be molded in a standard oven. To mold your shoes, pre-heat the oven to 70°C/160°F. Place the shoe in the oven for 20 minutes. If you have any lumps or bunions on your feet or if there are any areas causing fort, while the shoes are hot, you can press out ANY part of the boot. Then simply put the insoles back in, tighten them and that's it! You can heat mold the shoes AS MANY TIMES as you like.
SPECIFICATIONS:
100% carbon monocoque chassis utilising hand-laid unidirectional carbon and Bont Cycling's proprietary heat molding technology. Durolite upper supported by an embedded anti-stretch fabric for a consistent fit across the lifetime of the shoes. Comfortable faux suede liner with lightweight padding. Industry-leading 3.6mm stack height (sole thickness) for a closer connection to the pedal, more rounded pedal strokes, improved stability and injury prevention. Frontal Air Vents for breathability in all-weather conditions. Innersole - EVA thermo-moldable with built-in inner padding. Sole Guards - Replaceable heel, side and toe guards. 316 marine grade stainless steel hardware for improved removal and replacement of cleat t-nuts and heel pads. Padding - Closed-cell memory foam. Fully heat moldable monocoque chassis. Cleat Mounting - Standard 2-hole MTB pedal configuration.
Weight - 290 grams (approximate weight based on size 42 shoe).
