The Blackbird 4K HDCP 2.2 to 1.4 Converter is the definitive solution for playback of new 4K HDCP 2.2 encoded content on 4K displays with the old HDCP 1.4 standard. Many 4K televisions sold in the last few years do not support HDCP 2.2, but the Blackbird HDCP Converter keeps your equipment relevant and running.
The converter is also a patibility solution for AV distribution systems running a mix of new and old 4K displays.

Allows new 4K Devices that require HDCP 2.2 to work on older TV's (e.g. HDMI 2.0 4K TV's or HDMI 1.4 1080P TV's.
Example of HDCP Devices: • PS5 or PS4 Pro (e.g. PS/5 connection to older 4k30Hz TV input for HDCP 2.2 to patibility) • Xbox Series X or Xbox One S • Telus Optik TV 4K boxes • Shaw BlueCurve TV 4K boxes
Note: Some people have new stereo receivers that connect to older TV's and get a "HDCP error" when attempting to run the above signals through their stereo receiver. If this device sits between you stereo receiver and the HDCP 2.2 device, it would allow the signal to go through to your TV.

----- Example of how I used it.
I had a: • HDMI 1.4 1080P TV • HDMI 2.0 4K Stereo Receiver (supports HDCP 2.2) • Telus Optik TV 4K Box (supports HDCP 2.2) and I kept getting a "HDCP" signal error when I tried to access my Optik TV box (through my stereo) on my TV, even though the Optik TV box was set to 1080P output.
This was because the HDCP "handshake" that happens between the Telus HDCP 2.2 box and every other device in the chain must support HDCP 2.2, otherwise these signal errors can occur.
Reason for selling: I bought a new HDMI 2.1 4K TV (HDCP 2.2 support) therefore I no longer needed this adapter.
