Updated May 18 2023 This appliance works very well with magnetic pans of any make. I have had it for around 12 years, but only used it about a dozen times total, as I have had full cooktops in my abodes, so, it's been in storage a long time. I tested it today and my pot of water boiled very quickly.
***** In the past, students could rent a room for their semesters, and having a cooktop like this was a necessity - with TODAY'S 24,000$/yr rent, I should expect there to be a full 6-burner range, duel oven, toaster/salamander, and warming tray/chafing dish!
At christmas, it's always good to have an extra hot plate to keep things warm
