Antique barrister lawyer sectional elastic stacked bookcase bookshelf oak 3 tiers with glass doors 5 parts made by Office Specialty {Bibliothèque notaire avocat antique en chêne 3 niveaux avec portes vitrées 5 parties fabriquées par Office Specialty}
Description: Solid oak (tier sides, door frames, top, front). Glass doors slide on steel metal tracks. Back boards and floors of tiers are plywood, with interior surfaces of blond finish birch or maple veneer. Beautiful oak grain. The inside sides of the tiers are blond finish oak. Built by the Office Specialty Manufacturing Co Ltd, in Canada, likely in the early 1900s.
Ink stamp on top of one top cross brace: Patented May, 1901; The Office Specialty Mfg. Co. Limited; Toronto and Newmarket, Ontario.
Dimensions: 48.5” H x 34” W x 13” D. Effective heights interior of tiers with doors up: 1 of 9.25” H; 2 of 11.25” H. Effective depths of tiers (with doors down): 10.5"
Condition: Excellent vintage condition (9 / 10). The one missing brass metal pull, for one glass door, was replaced by a new antique look pull. Minor water stains on top. Lovely original patina finish, as it appears that it hasn’t been refinished. Excellent condition of plywood back boards, with no delamination of plies. Minor scratches to the finish. Missing part: pine cross bar brace on top of one tier, with dimensions (estimates): 3” W x 30” L x ¾" Thick
