Search "Sam's Cycles" on ibuyca in Guelph to find my other bicycle ads. Vintage 1988 Kuwahara Caravan Touring Bicycle that was made in Japan by skilled frame builders. This bike has just undergone several upgrades costing hundreds of $$. The bike now wears new tires new cables / housing, and new bar tape, Velo Orange fenders, has modern Shimano STI shifters, and the upgrade list goes on!
This is a beautiful vintage Touring bike, with a small frame in great shape that is tuned up and ready to ride! It has just been fully tuned up and is ready to ride and working perfectly. You could easily accessorise this bike with front or rear racks, and up to 3 water bottle cages.
This bicycle looks amazing and rides even better! It would be super fast and smooth for the Loading up and going on short or long touring adventures, local trails, roads, muting around town. Shifting and braking are very smooth.
It has Ukai Aluminium wheels with Suzue sealed bearing hubs and brand new Michelin tires. Has full Shimano Deore 2x7 speed group. Has upgraded Shimano STI index shifters that are integrated into the brake levers. Has Deore front and rear derailleurs, newer pact cranks, Shimano flat black pedals, Shimano Deore Cantilever brakes, and Shimano brake levers. Has modern wide bars held by the SR Stem that matches the silver alloy seat post with a classic Vetta leather saddle perched on top.
Frame and the fork are made of “Ishawata EXO” Quadruple butted 4130 Cro-mo steel. One of the neatest features of this bike is the chain stay spoke holder. Only TRUE touring bikes feature this spoke holder: it holds two usable spokes and nipples in case of the need for a road side repair, and also acts as an awesome chain stay paint protector from chain slap. Has mounts for fenders, front paniers, and a back rack. Awesome grey to blue fading paint. Made in Japan. And it was originally sold by @bicyclespecialties. All very cool!!
The bike has 14 speeds, 700c wheels and is XS size at 48cm with a 52cm top tube. Good for someone 5.2ft tall to likely around 5.8ft. Current stand over height is 29.5 inches. Rocking 28c tires, with lots of room to go up to around 35c depending on the tire.
This bike would be great for any collector or someone who is just looking for a cool bike to ride or do some touring with.
