Athena is a big beautiful girl ready for her loving family! She arrived with her sister Bessie; lost dogs who were not claimed by their owner. Athena is a big strong girl who tends to pull on leash; due to her size a home with no small children is a must. Athena requires a fully fenced secure yard to prevent escape. She can be reactive when she sees dogs in the neighbouring park, but she is a guardian dog and this can be expected with her breed. Although she arrived with another dog her size, she does protect her food and toys from her sister Bessie. Athena is very sweet and loveable; she enjoys interacting with her handlers and playing in our exercise yard. Athena is seeking an experienced handler that will work on her training and socializing. A family with an active outdoor lifestyle would be ideal. She has great potential to be a wonderful loyal pet!
Caucasian Shepherd Dogs were bred to care for flocks and defend the home against wild predators. They’re also known as Caucasian Mountain Dogs, Russian Bear Dogs or Caucasian Ovcharka Dogs. Caucasian Shepherd Dogs are intelligent, but their stubborn, independent nature can make them difficult to train. They are fairly low-energy dogs and with proper training and socialization, can make strong watchdogs or panions, even therapy dogs. They need regular grooming to keep the coat healthy and clean.
Athena is spayed, microchipped and has received her first vaccinations. Her current weight is 40kg.

If approved, staff will arrange an appointment to meet the pet before finalizing the adoption. Adoption fee is $206 + HST
