Antique 1920s 'RIGO' Glass Baby Bottle, Made in Canada.
A charming oval-shaped embossed glass baby bottle "nurser", with an 8 ounce capacity. Manufactured in the 1920s, this finely crafted clear glass bottle was made in a mold from what is described as "clear flint glass".
This baby feeding bottle is known by the brand name "Rigo". Like other Rigo bottles, it was made in Canada (either by the Dominion Glass Company, or else The Richards Glass Co., Toronto / Montreal). Patented in 1922, the design was registered in 1926 (as printed on the bottle).
Bottle is loaded with wonderful raised messages and text on the outside, including: • 'This Side Up When Using' (at the top). • Printed increments of ounces and half-ounces up to eight oz. from the bottom to the top. • ' "Rigo" Improved Nurser' (running up the side). • 'Nipple Will Not Collapse' (up the side edge). • 'Use "Rigo" Nipples' (up the side edge). • 'Strong - Easy To Clean' (also running up the side). • 'PAT'D 1922. Design Reg. 1926'.
Underside of the bottle is also stamped "RIGO" with small number '5'.
Measures 7" tall 2⅝" x 1¾". Nipple not included. Great for antique or vintage nursery decor.
CONDITION: In excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Embossed graphics are very clear.
