Search "Sam's Cycles" on ibuyca in Guelph to find my other bicycle ads. Here for sale is my vintage 1985 Alan super Record Racing Bicycle that has just been tuned up and is ready to ride! This bike is a LARGE 57cm and equipped with full Campagnolo Super ponents! Everything pletely adjusted and functions perfectly.
ALAN was founded in 1972 by Falconi Lodovico, an engineer who had worked for bicycle manufacturer TORPADO. The name es from the first two letters of the Lodovico’s children, Alberto and Annamaria. It was the pany to introduce an all-aluminium bike made from aerospace grade aluminium. In 1976, ALAN was again first in developing and manufacturing a production carbon frame made by bonding carbon posite tubing to cast aluminium lugs; a process still widely used today by many manufacturers.
Over the years, the firm’s frames were ridden to 20 cycle-cross world championships titles, 5 track world championships titles, numerous one day classic wins, as well as grand tour stage wins. Steel was the material of choice for a very long time. Entry level and top of the line frames were made of steel. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, bicycle frame builders were experimenting with different frame and fork sets materials – aluminium, magnesium, and carbon.
The ALAN Super Record is an aluminium and lugged frame set. A very bination, since most aluminium frames lacked external lugs and featured welded joints. ALAN did not rely on any welding or brazing process. Rather, the aluminium tubes were screwed and glued into the lugs. This construction help make for very light bicycles, coming in lighter than most of steel frames.
This bike is fully equipped with plete matching CAMPAGNOLO SUPER ponent group. The Campagnolo Record name has always signified the ultimate in ponent groups. This is a beautiful group that works fantastic! This is a perfect bike for L’Eroica style events that will ride beautifully, is very fast and reliable. The Campagnolo brakes look amazing and stop very well, the drilled brake levers are a thing of beauty!! Has Campagnolo 6 speed friction downtube shifters that glide easily though the gears. The chain slips over the 6 speed block and delivers the speed and power of the 53t or 42t chain rings for a lightning fast ride. ****NOTE the front derailleur has been swapped to a correct super record derailleur since the photos were taken.****
Has Campagnolo Record hubs laced to NOS Campagnolo Omega aluminium wheels (700c size) with BRAND NEW Vittoria tubular 700x25c tires. Has Cinelli alloy 400mm handle bars and 130mm Cinelli stem with new Fizik bar wrap. Has a Yellow Selle Italia Turbo saddle perched atop the Campagnolo Super Record fluted (rare 25mm size) seat post. Has the correct Campy Super Record pedals installed with toe clips and binder straps.
Everything on this bike is period correct Campagnolo from the top tube cable guides to the crank dust caps, it’s all there!
This bike is made with aerospace grade aluminium tubing, for a stiff yet supple ride. Has beautiful gold anodization that will certainly make your bike stand out in the crowd!
This bike has just been rebuilt, re greased and professionally tuned up. New tubular tires, NOS Rims, new brake hoods, new brake housing, new brake cables, and new bar tape! Hop on and ride!!
Has a 57cm or 22.5 inch frame (57cm seat tube and 57cm top tube), 12 speeds and 700c wheels. Only weights 19.5 LBS, wow that is light!!
