Laptop Acer 5742 series. Just upgraded the machine to 8 GB RAM and a Kingston SA 400, 480 MB SSD. The machine runs smoothly and is very responsive. Fresh install of Windows 7, Home Premium edition, SP1 with all required and significant updates applied. Activated based on the original Acer product key. I’ve seen references that claim this machine will run Windows 10 (with perhaps the exception that the network adapter might require Win 7 drivers). Prerequisite Win 10 drivers are available on Acer’s website. All original ACER software is available on included DVD, but installation of their bundled proprietary apps and 3rd party “trialware” will be at the discretion of the purchaser.
