Accounting Director

Our client a pany part of a group that oversees hundreds of plants across the world is looking for an Accounting Director familiar with activity-based costing in a manufacturing environment to oversee the accounting and activities of the plan. must have strong forecasting background experience in F/S consolidation and an extensive knowledge of the Canadian tax system and the possible benefits that can be obtained by running a plant.
As an accounting director, you will help guide this business into the next phase of its growth while ensuring proper costing, controls, and accounting policies.

Responsibilities
Analyze operating results for variances to Plan and Forecast and review alternatives with management.
provide analyses for Sales and Product Costing, manufacturing variances, and Operating Expenses through Gross Margin and Contribution Margin performance and Activity Based Costing methods
Evaluate all capital expenditure proposals for financial merit
Evaluate all contracts for financial merit and sound business practices.
Manage Credit and Collections
Prepare/coordinate all financial information and reports for the Business, including monthly/quarterly financial packages, quarterly schedules. Actuals versus Plan and Forecast, Cash Forecasts
Ensure proper reporting requirements are met for legal entity purposes such as tax schedules.
Prepare the Business financial one-year Business Plan and Three-Year Strategic Plan
Meet annual departmental budget.
Manage relationships with suppliers
Ensure pliance with Internal Audit requirements by initiating policies and procedures that facilitate this.
Responsible for safekeeping and proper utilization of all assets, including Inventory, Capital Assets, etc.
Manage functions and staff of the Accounting Manager department through a supervisor and support staff.

Qualifications
Were are looking for an accounting professional with a minimum of 6 years of costing and budgetary experience
min 3-5 years experience managing a team
Min Bachelor in Accounting
CPA designation is an asset
Manufacturing or distribution experience is an asset.
Activity-Based Costing experience is an asset
must be able to travel out of province a few times a month
