A set of five code-matched Sylvania by Philips ECG 5U4GB / 5AS4A audio tubes, all test NOS, all are in original boxes with original sleeve. A rare set. $320 oo best offer. Branded as Sylvania, made by Philips. Black plate, high power, twin diode designed for use as a full-wave rectiﬁer in the power supply of higher powered audio amplifiers and other equipment with high current requirements. The 5U4GB may be used as a replacement for either the 5U4G or 5U4GA. All these Philips tubes have the same matching 'AHU' and 'gk' 1960's date codes. All these tubes test on calibrated BK 747 and Cardmatic 123R as NOS. BK 747 results are: • Remaining Life - all pass test, • Shorts - none, all pass test, • Grid emissions - all pass test, • Test 1 - 4 tubes test at 102, 1 tests at 104 (where 68 is minimum), • Test 2 - 4 tubes test at 108, 1 tests at 110 (where 68 is minimum). Cardmatic 123R test results are: • Remaining Life - all pass cathode activity test, • Leakage - all pass test, • Quality - all 5 test at 70 (or appx 224 mA at 250 volts max), within NOS range for this Cardmatic tester, • Gas - all pass test, • Shorts - none, all pass test. All pictures, including the test results, are of these Sylvania tubes. These 5U4GB's are all labeled on the glass in yellow text with 'Philips ECG', 'Made in USA', 'AHU' and 'gk', and with '5U4GB' and '5AS4A' and 'USA' near the top of the glass. Clear logos and text, rare given these Philips are known for fragile lettering on glass. All boxes are in very good crisp condition, measure 4.8 inches tall, and all have the correct 'SYLVANIA ECG', '5U4GB' and '5AS4A' label on the top end flap. All boxes and the sleeve correctly marked with both 'Philips ECG' and 'Sylvania'. All boxes are labeled with the same bullseye and 'D4' logo on the bottom underflap, and with '12Z' and same text on the top underflap. Sleeve bottom also marked with '12-5A'. This set of five code-matched ECG 5U4GB tubes came from a pany's reserve stock department, and a one-page detailed written provenance is included. See our other sale items for more tubes.
