I have up for sale my 2001 S55 AMG Long Wheel Base Carbon Comfort Pack. The car is fully loaded with everything and had an incredible purchase price of 139 900$ back in the day. It’s build is of top quality from Germany they did not shy away on using any materials back then. The car feels like driving an underground bunker on wheels it’s very well insulated especially with the full leather/alcantera interior everything is soft. It’s also fortable with 14 point adjustable heated cooled massaging seats and heated rear recliners with 5 stage lumbar supports even Bose 11 speaker 20 inch factory sub active noise cancellation. Also Insanely economical I average 10.8L/100kms it’s got a 90L tank and will get a little over 850kms off a full one. New Hyundais will get approx 9L/100k off the lot. The car is equipped with the legendary m113 forged engine producing 360hp flat on this version and the 722.636 5 speed transmission amg variant with a 2001 build date meaning it has all the updated internals. The car makes 391ftpds does a 0-100 in 5.5 Seconds flat with the tiptronic. Gross weight is 5292 pounds the aerodynamics are very good hence it’s capability’s to get such good fort and noise dampening I would classify this car as “the highway runner” it’s very well equipped to travel long distances at high speeds and has been doing so for decades that’s what it was made for. Pros -Timing chains/tensioners done at Mercedes -Transmission control unit done at Mercedes -COMMAND Head unit done at Mercedes -Injectors replaced at Mercedes -Rear Main Seal replaced at Mercedes -No Leaks whatsoever on the entire car -No claims on the vin or car it’s spotless -All fluids and filters religiously changed at necessary intervals (oil) (transmission) (coolant) (brake) (power steering) (differential) -Immaculate service record all organized in a binder with over 15 thousand spend on necessary maintenance mon fail points in just the past 2 years the car has always been looked after prioritizing mechanically over cosmetically preventive maintenance -ABC Delete professionally done with eibach Glide pro strut masters all around pletely coded out of puter as well (this is the biggest fail point for these cars by far they squat) -Brand New Tires Rotors Pads all around factory 4 piston big brakes and carbon ceramics enables it to stop on a dime (Michelin pilot sport a/s Zimmermans Akebonos) -Front suspension system has pleted refreshed with the full uro kit also front wheel bearings are new and all green greased up -New Lemforder Engine/transmission mounts done 9000kms ago have black series engine mounts as spares too just didn’t like the vibration and harshness of them -Exhaust has pletely re done to sound like a real amg should have from the factory resonators primary’s secondary’s gone H pipe installed stock mufflers still on the back it’s crispy when you want it to be and quiet when you need it to be best sounding car I’ve ever owned by far -Many more miscellaneous parts have been installed over the years as needed like rubber hoses gaskets pins connectors reservoirs seals plugs wires coils fuses vacuum egr ect ect ect way too much to list on here basically whenever the car needed anything mechanical it was done immediately with no expenses spared only the best parts purchased all German ones when possible it’s always been looked over and looked after by a German car enthusiast who actually knows what their looking for. I’ve learnt just about everything this car has to offer and will be very sad to see it go. I do hope it will be to a good home it’s a car that I’m forever connected to and will never forget it’s never let me down yet still to this day as my daily always gets me where I need to be and whenever it needs anything it’s always done a great job of letting me know ahead of time
Cons
-Cosmetically if you care it needs some work the front bumper is cracked at the bottom from the low ride height and high curbs. the driver door has a dent in it that would have to be pulled out. the rear trunk paint is starting to peel up on the clear coat and the wheel wells are starting to chip up and rust on the surface from Pebbles. -The navigation cds and cassettes are missing they didn’e with it -Driver door seat controls and soft close are finicky and only work when they want to (started after the dent)
