200+ year old Japanese small chest of drawers

If the item is listed then it is available, we will NOT ship the item, so please don't ask, and we are not looking for trades. This is an antique Japanese small chest of drawers. We were told 20 years ago that it was 200 + years old when we purchased it in Japan and judging by the wear, it is at least that old. There are...scratches, dings, dents, chips and cracks...did I miss any?... on the chest and for good reason, it was used A LOT, so much so that the grain of the wood ing through what is left of the original lacquer finish on the drawers, each age ring can be felt with the finger tips on the front, impossible to know just how name times the drawers were opened and closed, or precisely how many people used the chest but one thing is certain, this thing has been around for a very long time, since the days of the samurai warriors and the Tokugawa shogunate and prior to Commodore Perry's voyage to Japan. I have posted photos to try to capture the texture of the wood, the metal handles and all the time this chest has been in existance. It measures 12 inches high by 13 3/4 inches long by almost 6 inches wide. The top drawer has a part of the interior on one side missing, it was not there when we got it, I tried to show that in the photos. Of course the contents of the chest are not included, thought I'd mention that just in case...and we use it ourselves. The boards used to build the chest are 1/2 inch thick and the high quality workmanship is what we e to expect from the Japanese and is the reason this chest is still around and still able to be used...no particle board or plywood here, all solid wood. This small chest would be a great addition to any decor and certainly a fabulous conversation piece and my guess, there more than likely are no others like it in this city, perhaps the province. We can try to answer any questions people may have, and the chest was purchased by us in Japan while there. m. We are open to reasonable offers though foolish ones may just go unanswered.
