Cadillac remains today as one of the finest cars built for road use, setting a high standard for performance and luxury. The Eldorado name was initially penned in 1952 when it was proposed for the 1952 Cadillac Golden Anniversary show car, and later used in the 1953 new Cadillac convertible. Since then, there have been ten distinct generations of the Cadillac Eldorado. The sixth generation (1967-70) featured a 472 V8 with Rochester Quadrajet 4 barrel carburettor, mated to a Turbo-Hydramatic 425, 3 speed automatic transmission.
This particular Eldorado was purchased new in 1969 by the one and only owner at Calgary Motor Products. It is finished in San Mateo Red Metallic with white vinyl top and red leather interior. With the exception of a respray in 2006, the car pletely original, showing only 67349 original miles.
Today, this beautiful Cadillac elegantly displays all of the traits of a handsomely configured Eldorado. The paint quality is excellent, the colour is fitting and one of the binations to appreciate the elegance of this design. The exterior brightwork is excellent and shows no blemishes. The glass, exterior emblems, lighting, exterior lenses, and turn indicators are all in excellent condition. The interior is configured with electric bench front seat and bench rear seat. The original red leather shows excellent with only slight wear on the driver’s seat. The red carpets are also excellent with minor wear on driver’s side.
The driving experience is very satisfying with smooth power delivery and shifting through the transmission. The ample 375 horsepower propels the car to 100 km/h in less than 10 seconds with very good throttle response. The disc brakes operate in balance with the chassis stopping the car smoothly and tracking evenly from higher speeds. Powerful and elegant, this wonderful bines all of the traits of enjoyable motoring from a romantic and inspired era that can only be experienced from behind the wheel of a vintage Cadillac. With only 67,349 miles, this Cadillac is show quality, is a great driver and offers good investment potential.
