1965 Fender Vibro Champ Amp-Pre CBS Vintage BlackPanel COLLECTOR

This gem was Professionally Serviced in November, 2022 by a amp tech in the business for 40 years....have receipts. Collector grade Pre-CBS 1964/65 Fender "Vibro-Champ-Amp.AA764".....Production #4 of date code "OD" referencing to 4th month (D=April) of 1965. One of the cleanest circuit chassis' I've seen for it's age....Hardware is also pristine as there is no rust visible and due to the fact that this amp has sat (unused) in a indoor climate controlled closet away from sunlight for at least 15 years plus.
It's rarity possesses: -Black face panel "Fender Electric Instrument Co." Later production was Fender Musical Instruments. -Panel knobs are also the rare "set screw at 10 position on dials. Later on in production knob set screw is at 1 position. -These few came "without a Fender logo" on the front grille. -Paper production print tag in the cab is 10/10 condition and untouched. -2 1965 Mullard 12AX7 UK made pre-amp tubes (Original since I've had the amp 15+years.) -1 Sylvania 6V6GTpower tube and 1 RCA Electron 5Y3 rectifier tube (May also be originals from 1965). -Oxford brand Alnico 8" factory speaker. -The cabinets black Tolex is all intact and I would give it a 9.5/10 -Stock Schumacher transformers. (Power is 39th week of 1964. Output is 5th week of 1965). -The amp delivers 5 watts of Class A tube tone....and is a very desirable amp for home or studio. -The Vibrato speed and intensity also work flawless for that rich tone.
As for the recent service done, tubes tested very good, cleaned pots and power ON/OFF switch. The notorious 4 "paper capacitors" and the chrome main cap were replaced with new high quality caps of same factory value specs as well as the new chrome main cap. This was mended simply due to the amp's age and promote many more years of enjoyment. (I have kept the original 4 paper capacitors, the chrome main cap and the old 2-prong power cord to give to new owner (see photo). The amp has the original Oxford speaker in it...however, I have ordered a new (factory mended replacement Jensen P8R 8" speaker) and will give it to the new owner should he/she choose to upgrade the speaker due to it's age as well. Else it sounds fine with warm and lustrous tone as it should. The amp delivers 5 watts of Class A tube tone....and is a very desirable amp for home or studio.
