1964 Abbot Folkboat

An absolute gem of a boat, proudly built in Canada by Abbot Boatworks. She is probably the sweetest sailing and best looking boat (in my humble opinion) on the St Lawrence. Not a lot of forts, but that just means there's nothing to break and spend money and time fixing. Just sail. Comes with full set sails in excellent condition, spinnaker, back up sails and a cotton show sail that just looks awesome. Has a rudimentary galley with a sink and alcohol stove and sleeps fortably. Has a road worthy trailer and an excellent 5hp yamaha outboard. Old wooden boats aren't for everyone, but the maintenance involved with this boat is about the same as on a similar sized fibreglass boat. Just putting on deks olje instead of wax. It'd be a safe bet that she'll still be sailing long after the current fibreglass models are recycled into play ground equipment and drinking straws. If interrested take a few minutes to look up Folkboats on youtube, they are impressive and exciting little vessels. Breaks my heart to sell, but the family keeps getting bigger and since I'm not allowed to get rid of the kids we need to move up to a bigger boat. Currently sitting in my driveway if interested in taking a look. Marine survey a few years ago valued the boat/trailer package at 17,500$, can show maintenance history and survey to interested parties.
