This Thunderbird is mechanically sorted and is an excellent driver. Presented in its original bination of Colonial White over Black/White Vinyl interior. Built on the 26th of January, 1956 in Dearborn, Michigan. The dealer code was ‘SK’ which means this was a San Jose delivered car which started life in California. This car was restored in the early 90’s and shows very well today! Included in the sale are lots of receipts from the restoration, along with a 1956 Thunderbird Handbook. The paint and chrome are in good shape with only minor flaws from pleasure use, and age of restoration. Meant to be driven and enjoyed, this Thunderbird has a smooth running 312 engine mated to a T5, five speed manual transmission. The transmission helps the car run low RPMs even at highway speeds. The car has received an alternator conversion. It now runs an electric fuel pump and electric windshield wipers. This Ford has power brakes for safe and effortless stopping. The brakes and flex lines were recently serviced. Five American Classic wide white wall tires are fitted to the car. They are modern radials with a proper biased ply, white wall appearance. This Ford has 2 tops included in the sale; a porthole hardtop in colonial white, and a Prestige Thunderbird replacement soft top. The undercarriage is clean and rust free. Inside, this ‘56 is very impressive. The interior shows almost no wear. The dash, seat, pedals, carpet, steering wheel and door panels are in excellent shape. All the gauges are clear and functional. The optional town and country radio looks great and is also functional. An excellent opportunity to own a beautiful 1956 Thunderbird. Drop the top, turn up the radio, and drive!
