1948 Mercury Eight

Near stock condition Flathead V8 motor runs good and has been rebuilt at some point in the past. A new drag link was installed recently to eliminate steering play. Transmission is a 3 speed standard with the shifter on the column, all forward and reverse gears work properly. Original 6V positive ground electrical system with generator. Starter and battery wires have been increased to 0 gauge wire and a new solenoid installed. Period correct cloth covered wiring throughout. ponents are painted and floor pan is coated with bed liner. Interior is in nice condition. Body is in good shape all around, no indications of rust. Features suicide rear doors. Most of the stainless trim pieces are on the car, some need repair or replacement. Mercury logos are missing from the hood and the glove box lid. The original clock does not work, requires replacement or upgrade. The original tube radio was gutted, so a low voltage amplfier was installed to power a pair of speakers mounted in the oem dash speaker location. The audio system can be fed by a portable mp3 player or phone with a 3.5mm audio cable. Odometer reads 87,107. Requires brake work, there is a leak somewhere in the brake system.
Comes with spare parts such as new headlights, new optional 6V amber fog lights, new tie rod ends, new belt etc.
