1939 Peterborough Gull 16' Lapstrake Rowboat

Reduced from $7500. Spring is just around the corner. Peterborough built very few boats using this construction technique. The craftsmanship is exquisite with double lapped scarf joints. White cedar planking on half-round ribs. 16 feet long, 42 inch beam, and a centre depth of 15 inches. Original basswood floor boards. The rear seat backrest was modified from Peterborough Speedster parts.
I restored this boat about 10 years ago and now advancing years make it difficult to move the boat in and out of the water. Time to let a new owner enjoy and appreciate it.
Last summer, the keel (and skeg) were removed, re-bedded and the exterior was freshened with 6 coats of Epifanes clear gloss varnish. The boat now "soaks up" very quickly. There are a few bangs, bruises, dark spots, and the seats have a few scratches from my dogs. While not pristine, this is still a valuable boat. Price includes one pair of spoon blade oars.
