1870'S VICTORIAN SIDE CHAIR EASTLAKE EBONIZED FINISH

This striking ladies Victorian side chair from circa 1870's is in the Aesthetic or Eastlake style, which was the Victorian take on decoration from exotic countries. Eastlake patterns on the wood frame and legs are very well executed. Highly ornate carvings and patterns make these chairs a work of art. Measures 36 inches X 20 X 21. The seat is 16 1/2 high.
Condition: Very, very good condition for its age. The chair has an upholstered back and seat in a pinky/burgundy velvet, which is probably original and it rests on its original brass capped casters. The springs in the seat are intact and the chair is still very sturdy with tight joints and no breaks or repairs. It also retains its original ebonized finish, which is in good condition having a rich color and patina. It's the fort chair for the bedroom, desk, etc. Price has been reduced several times.
